Final Project
For my final project, I plan on creating a Windows Movie Maker project that will educate students on the Beat Poets of the 1950′s.

I plan on focusing mainly on poets Allen Ginsberg, Gary Snyder, Lawrence Ferlinghetti and Gregory Corso. More importantly, I plan on explaining what the beat movement stood for, as well as revealing these writer’s ideas, and many times, the consequences for voicing these ideas.
I chose this topic because I just recently learned about the beat movement and was incredibly intrigued by the way poetry shifted in the 1950′s. I also felt like this topic connected great to our novels, The Hunger Games and Little Brother, as both the movement and the novel have a strong anti-government message.

I really like the topic of your project! You are considering focusing on several poets, and I wonder if it might not be more manageable within the scope of this course to focus on one poet as an example of what the beat movement represented. I also love the connection to our YA novels! Were there any examples we discussed in class that stood out to you? You might consider more specifically what your final product will look like. I look forward to seeing your final project! Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions or need help as you continue to work on it!
